Description |
Sewn in contemporary plain wrappers (dusty). Typeset. Worm holes in some pages, occasional pencil performance markings. Bertoni’s "Il Miserere" ranks amongst his best sacred works, a genre for which he received great acclaim internationally. The Miserere was written in 1762 and performed annually by the choir and orchestra of the Ospedale Mendicanti in Venice, a city where later Bertoni was appointed maestro di capella at San Marco. His success as a composer of opera and religious music brought him many honours and accolades. |
