Quarter leather (rubbed), with embossed cloth boards (corners bumped and edges worn). Engraved. Title within an ornamental designed border. Some light foxing. In June 1855 the Gazette Musicale advertised an unspecified number of separate pieces from the opera. Hopkinson was never able to find a copy. However, it would appear that these separate numbers are incorporated into the present complete vocal score as the plate number has, in places, added in parenthesis the following numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 14, and each of these numbers has a double pagination. The score appeared just a few weeks after the première at the Paris Opéra on 13 June 1855. |
