Single sheet (previously folded several times). Typed document, in French, with the stamp of the "Republique Française". The contract states that Bernhardt entrusts "on a purely exclusive basis, the care to manage her literary interest" to Berger and Causse-Mael, and they will try to get her the best conditions in France and abroad. The fees she will pay are also set out: 10% for work in France, 15% for plays and cinematographic scenarios and 20% for all foreign negotiations. This will be paid by the actress "by way of commission". The contract is interesting in that it shows that even as late as 1920, this great actress needed an agent and was obviously still working and much in demand. |
