Folded as issued in publisher's printed wrappers (outer fold of No.I separated). Titles printed in red and black. The copyright date is 1910. The Trois Ballades were first performed on 5 February 1911, sung by Paul de l'Estang. Lockspeiser describes them as one of Debussy's finest song-cycles (Debussy, His Life and Mind, p.10). The orchestrated edition was published in 1911. Without the copyright date of 1912 added to the printing of the three songs in one volume. |
