Description |
Single sheet. Line engraving by Vertue after Hans Holbein the younger (1497/8-1543). Henry VI is depicted half-length, with plain cap, jewelled collar, embroidered robes, and mantle. Within a rectangular border with ornament above, and with a scene of his reign below. A plate from the second edition of Rapin de Thoyras and Nicolas Tindal's History of England (1732-33), also reissued in The Heads of the Kings of England, Proper for Mr. Rapin's History (1736). |
