Description |
Framed; the letter adhered to the glazing around all edges. Airmail letter, separated along upper fold, signed in brown ink. Stravinsky replies to Panofsky's letter of 31 May and would like to discuss the "problems of musical performance"; Stravinsky says that the quotation alluded to should be cited as by C.F. Ramuz and this is probably the anecdote which claims that a bell-ringer's limited room for rhythmic or expressive manoeuvre in performance makes them an ideal conductor. |
