The second edition, substantially revised from the first of the previous year, includes the author's lengthy Reply to criticism by William Hayes (1708-1777) in the latter's Remarks on Mr. Avison's Essay (1753). Also with "Proposals for Publishing by Subscription, Specimens Of the various Stiles in Musical Expression". |
